NVRDUL Management Announces Benghazi Hero John ‘Tig’ Tiegen Files Lawsuit in Fight Against Malicious Social Media Attacks About Benghazi Terrorist Event

Fort Worth, Texas – October 15, 2018 – NVRDUL Management LLC, a provider of professional management services to select actors, athletes, authors, musicians and celebrities throughout the United States today announced that John “Tig” Tiegen Medal of Valor and Award for Heroism recipient, Benghazi hero and Co-Author of “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi,” filed suit against a Texas man who has tried to seek fame using malicious slander and defamation in social media.

John Tiegen stated, “While certain people in the prior Administration have continued to be dismissive of the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya, such discussions have not taken aim at the people who were actually there. But now, some people think they can seek fame by using social media to defame the men and women who were there, by spreading vicious lies and innuendo about what happened. I was there. I saw my friends die. We did our very best to protect the compound and saved dozens of lives in one of the most horrific fire-fights I’ve ever been in. With this lawsuit, I am taking a stand for what is right. We have a zero tolerance policy for fame seekers who act with malice about the truth.”

John Tiegen’s attorney, Bryce King of Fort Worth added, “This lawsuit should send a strong message that posting lies about individuals on social media has consequences. Not only is posting lies defamation, but in this case, it’s also incredibly disrespectful to defame John Tiegen and any Veteran for their service to our country.”

Carri Hyde CEO of NVRDUL Management said, “John Tiegen is a patriot who has been selfless in his service to this country. His devotion and ongoing support of veterans, directly and through his foundation, Beyond the Battlefield The Tiegen Foundation, has been unwavering. Harmful and malicious slander and defamation cannot be allowed against him, others like him or the basic patriotic American principles that he represents. He should be applauded for what he and others like him have done and continue to do throughout their lives. Tig should not be maliciously and falsely hounded in social media for a fame seekers agenda. This lawsuit is an unprecedented public stance against these types of social media attacks. It is an honor to support him in this effort to demand that truth be the baseline for all.”

About John “Tig” Tiegen

When he was an active U.S. Marine Corps E5 Sergeant and Infantry Squad Leader, Tig was specially trained in advanced operational security (OPSEC) and readiness actions. For thirteen years, he applied this military training as a special Security Protection contractor for Blackwater Security on over 40 missions in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, among other locations. Later, his work as part of the CIA’s Global Response Staff (GRS) would change his life forever.

Now immortalized in the 2016 Michael Bay movie, “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” Tig was an essential element of the U.S. response on September 11, 2012, when Islamic militants attacked the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, killing four Americans: Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy SEALs. Through their heroic actions, Tig and the Annex Security Team were instrumental in saving the over two dozen diplomatic and CIA personnel still remaining at the compound.

As a motivational speaker, Tig spreads awareness about what really happened in Benghazi. He brings his combat experiences into stimulating discussions about the importance of clear communications and teamwork, while providing his first-hand account of military strategy, operations expertise and quick reactionary force efforts of the Annex Security Team, recounting the 13 hours of intense fighting against the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya. As a veteran advocate, Tig is devoted to making all veterans lives better, and formed the non-profit, Beyond The Battlefield The Tiegen Foundation, to support this ongoing mission.

Tig has been featured on Fox News, The Blaze, Breitbart, Republican National Convention, PBS News Hour, ABC News and CNN, among many other news outlets. Beyond the Battlefield The Tiegen Foundation® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to our wounded veterans. Our mission is to provide support for wounded veterans as they face the many challenges encountered during their rehabilitation, reintegration and healing process. Often when our veterans return from their tours of service, the tolls of war are too great to bear alone. We leave no service member behind and work diligently and continuously to help prevent veteran suicide. By including wounded members in various Foundation-sponsored events we aim to motivate, encourage and afford them opportunities they might not otherwise have had. The Foundation’s focus is to lift their spirits while reminding them that there is more Beyond the Battlefield and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
